Solid
State Electronics
The SaunaMed manufacturing process uses
components which are all solid state with no moving parts, making the SaunaMed
system an extremely robust and reliable one.
Factory
Testing
Each SaunaMed sauna is thoroughly tested at
the factory to ensure that it is fully functional. It has been shown that the
electrical components in a SaunaMed sauna have an extremely low failure rate
meaning your sauna is always ready to perform when you want to relax and
detoxify. For example, the DuraWave™ heaters have a failure rate of less than
0.01%. In fact, each SaunaMed sauna is manufactured to a standard to meet both
residential and commercial demands.
Because of the precision and quality of the parts
used in the manufacturing process, SaunaMed saunas are recognized for their
durability.
World
Class Safety Standards
In addition to quality and innovation, our
commitment to safety is unparalleled in the industry. With strict quality
control measures in place you can be assured all of our saunas are electrically
certified to meet and surpass stringent safety standards and are regularly
inspected by an independent authority.
Many of our certifications are issued by SGS
Germany, which is regarded as the premier quality management centre in the
world today.
Certifications include CE (EMC, LVD), ISO
9001:2000, ETL, ETS, C-TICK, ROHS, GS, and SAA to name a few...
All the material we use is non-allergenic,
non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Our wood comes from renewable forests.
Furthermore, SaunaMed units use half the electricity of standard units. Not
only does this save energy, but money as well. We also go a step further and
ensure that all of our products are manufactured to ROHS standards, which
restricts the release of Hazardous Substances.
We are so confident in the quality of our items we offer a 5 year warranty on our wood and glass parts and 2 years on electric parts. If there are any faults with the sauna within this period, parts and simple replacement instructions will be sent out free of charge.
Environmentally
Friendly
All the material we use is non-allergenic,
non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Our wood comes from renewable forests.
Furthermore, SaunaMed saunas use half the electricity of standard
units. We also go a step further and ensure that all of our products are
manufactured to ROHS standards, which restricts the release of Hazardous
Substances.
SaunaMed is one of the only manufacturers of
far infrared saunas with certifications from the Sustainable Forestry
Initiative (SFI).
“Being certified shows that you comply with
the highest social and environmental standards on the market. As public concerns
about the state of the world’s forests and timber resources increases.
What do these certifications mean?
At SaunaMed, our philosophy for healthy living
extends beyond the human body. We believe that by keeping our environment
healthy there are fewer toxins in the air and water resulting in fewer toxins
for your body to absorb. We are here to help you stay healthy and, at the same
time, ensure a healthy planet.
What is
Chain-of-Custody?
Not only is your SaunaMed infrared sauna an
environmentally friendly product, but our entire process is certified. The SFI
have certified our manufacturing facilities Chain-of-Custody (COC). COC is the
path taken by raw materials from a certified source through processing,
manufacturing, distribution, and printing until it is a final product ready for
sale to you. So your SaunaMed Infrared Sauna is as environmentally friendly as
it can be from the original tree to your final sauna.
Chemicals
We manufacture to the ROHS directive and use
no chemicals or toxins in our sauna cabins as this could result in toxic fumes
being released during operation and these chemicals could easily be absorbed by
your open pores.
Silent
Operation
We have ensured that our saunas are silent in
operation to aid in your relaxation.
Installation
As our items are packed flat, they are
transported and moved around the home easily. All of our items are easily
assembled and include clear simple instructions.
Installation should take about thirty minutes.
We provide you with an easy to read ‘step by step’ manual. Our saunas arrive
flat packed in 2 or 3 large boxes, depending on which model. This also makes it
easier to take with you if you ever decide to move house. All wall sections are
made to fit together precisely, this ensures that our infrared saunas are very
rigid and have a solid construction.
Do I
need an Electrician?
An electrician is not required as our saunas
simply plug into any household power point, they are delivered to you in
kit-form and all wiring and accessories are already in place.
Does
the Sauna require any ventilation or plumbing?
The sauna cabin is self-venting and requires
no plumbing. There is a sliding vent to control the exhaust of hot air and the
unit stands off the floor on 4 cleverly designed supports so no further venting
is required and your floor remains protected.
Is it difficult to assemble the sauna in a
restricted area such as a loft or basement?
Our saunas are supplied flat packed for
assembly on site. Providing you can get the panels through any loft door etc.
there will be no difficulty to assemble the cabin. By using advanced Far
Infrared technology an Aqualine sauna can be installed in any room (even on
carpet) and only requires a standard 13 Amp plug socket. Unlike old style steam
saunas there is no need for venting, special wiring or special flooring. Your
spare room, conservatory, garage or any spare space can become a centre for
relaxation and wellness.
Can the
sauna be used outdoors?
Only if installed in a garden building such as
a summer house or a shed.
Accessories
Included
The ability to control the sauna from inside
and out, timer functions, stereo sound, oxygen ioniser system, aromatherapy,
air vents, lighting, drinks holder, magazine and towel racks are all extra
features that you will really come to appreciate with use of a SaunaMed sauna.
Electrical
Considerations
All SaunaMed Saunas run on standard 240
volt/13 amp domestic plugs. You will not need to change your electrical wiring
to run our range of infrared saunas.
Many sauna companies fail to explain the
differences in wattages, volts and amps 13 amps equals 3120 watts. Any sauna
requiring more wattage than 3120 will require you to upgrade to a heavier duty
circuit.
Certification
Electrical Testing Laboratories (ETL) was
founded in 1896 by Thomas Edison, and is one of the oldest product safety
testing laboratories in the world. Certification by ETL and ETL-C assures you
that all signature models have been tested to meet the required safety and performance
standards.
The RoHS Directive stands for "the
restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and
electronic equipment".
GS - Recognised throughout Europe and
particularly important in Germany, the independently authorised GS mark shows
that a product complies with the minimum requirements of the German Equipment
and Product Safety Act. The GS mark shows a product has passed safety tests,
exceeds legal standards and is of a high quality.
The ISO9001 standard requires a continual
improvement in the operating processes and quality management system. This
standard is important as it guarantees a consistency in product and service
that will achieve customer satisfaction.
Our manufacturing facility has implemented a
quality management system in order to maintain the highest standards in product
development and quality assurance.
Besides these approvals, all of our electrical
wiring is encased in stainless steel fireproof conduit.
Why are
Certifications Important?
SaunaMed proudly holds the industry`s top
certifications. Any organization who issues a certification is responsible for
what they have issued for a certain product. Accordingly, their standards are
extremely high and they would never issue a certification for an imperfect
product. That`s why other sauna manufacturers are eager to get certifications
but rarely get one.
Our values and standards have made us with our
revolutionary infrared technology the leaders in the market and research. In
doing this we have set international standards and now have highly successful
representatives in different continents.
SaunaMed has established an excellent
reputation. Competent advice, consistent research and continued development as
well as premium quality are just some of the building blocks for our success.
Experts claim that SaunaMed infrared technology is among the most efficient
and, above all, most effective the world over.
How
often can I use the Infrared Sauna?
As with any form of exercise, it is important
to build up a tolerance. Use a lower temperature (35°c) for about 15-20
minutes, initially 3 times a week. Once conditioned, many people enjoy daily
sessions of up to 35 to 40 minutes.
What
temperature is best?
We suggest beginning at 35°C and working up to
the higher temperatures. It is often not necessary to reach maximum
temperatures and most benefits are experienced at lower temperatures.
Should
I drink water before or after a sauna session?
Yes you should do both, as well as drinking
water during the sauna session. All our saunas include a handy drinks holder
inside.
Is the
sauna suitable for anybody?
Due to the more controlled temperature and
safe heating apparatus, far infrared saunas are beneficial to a wider variety
of people. A healthcare professional should be consulted if you have specific
health conditions, including pregnancy.
Is
sauna safe for use by the elderly?
The older we get the more toxic we become.
Many anti-ageing practitioners are now incorporating far infrared sauna therapy
into their programs. It is important to note that most patients over sixty are
dehydrated to some degree and this should be addressed by consuming fluids as
instucted. Begin at 30°C and gradually increase the temperature.
What
about children?
The sauna can be used by all people due to its
safe heating apparatus. If the sauna is used at all for children under ten, it
should be used for a short duration at a low temperature (30-40°C) and ensure
fluids are replaced through drinking plenty of water. Good results have been
noted with autism and ADD/ADHD.
Is
there any maintenance involved?
Not much at all, just give the glass door a
wipe down, and change the light bulb when required. If a problem does occur we
have qualified technicians available to speak with you, also a troubleshooting
guide is included in the kit, if needed. The floor can be mopped out using warm
water and disinfectant. The benches should be sponged down using warm soapy
water. This must be used sparingly to avoid soaking the wood. If necessary, the
heater can be switched on at a low temperature to assist with the drying out of
the benches.
